Bib & Tucker

Bib & Tucker 6 year bourbon may seem a little under aged with so many 10 to 12 year bourbons in the market, but it doesn’t matter what they lack in age they make up for it with quality.  This is a bourbon that will have you telling your friends about it and have you remembering it for quite some time.Bib & Tucker is a term that comes from the frontier days of America and it was a way to state you were in your finest apparel.

The bottle itself makes you realize that they took the name into account while designing it.  From the tied down cork to the color of the bottle you immediately say ok this looks cool. Then the raised lettering and touch of design makes you think of the old frontier, finally the depth of the cork will just sell you on the look and feel of Bib & Tucker.
It is not often that I lead with a bottle design but this bottle is special and the presentation and feel of the bottle will give you great expectations for the bourbon that is held in the vessel.

Once you untie and pull the cork out you get a feeling of special. Then you pour your first glass and let the aroma come alive with its oaky vanilla with a touch of smoke it is quite the beginning.  Shortly after the first taste you come to find yourself in a state of ease as you find yourself in a land of enchantment.  This is truly a bourbon that deserves recognition. It is smooth, balanced and with a touch of sweetness with a taste of brunt vanilla and a lasting leathery touch it is as bold as one could ask. This 6 year 92 proof small batch bourbon is one of the best on the market and goes unnoticed by most people.

The attention to detail in the bottle and the bourbon is what will make you smile while enjoying Bib & Tucker and give you a reason to brag to your friends of what you have found.  The overall experience of drinking the bourbon is fine straight and even better with an ice cube or two. Still I have a job to do and it meant using this bourbon in cocktails and does it preform brilliantly.  I started with an Old Fashion and the simplicity of the Old Fashion was a perfect way to break the ice I next made a Whiskey sour and again it was a great time with a cocktail. When using it in a craft cocktail the results were the same this is a bourbon that can be enjoyed anyhow you would like.

At the end of the day the Bib & Tucker Bourbon is a top flight bourbon and deserves to be recognized as such. It is one of those bourbons that you will fall in love with it has an enchanting allure from the look to the aroma and finally the taste. When it all comes down to it there are very few things that could be improved with this bourbon and even less that you could say is wrong all of it is nit-picking and that allows it to be a 5 out of 5 and a special spirit not just a special bourbon.
