Ascension is the new God of War offering. Is it worth the time it takes to truly play through the game… umm yes. It is still the God of War game even if the multiplayer isn’t all it should be. I am sure that over time the faults will become strengths and the GOW team figures out how to make multiplayer everything it could be.
Let’s start off with the bad, surprisingly this is the first time the graphics didn’t wow me. I don’t know if it is because they seem to be just on par with GOW 3. It also maybe the fact that Tomb Raider last week was gorgeous. After that there is the multiplayer which was fun for a moment. Then after that it becomes a bit repetitive.
Now, there is still good to talk about! To start off the scale is once again impressive and GOW is one of the few games that uses scale to add to drama every time. The game play also a ton of fun it is responsive and easy to pick up nothing is worse than over thought and complex gameplay. The continuous storyline of our favorite spartan Kratos is more than welcome in this game.
The single-player is where you should spend most of your time. This is where the game gets up and makes you say may I have more? The single player is the perfect level of difficulty, as well as keep you interested. Every moment that passes will have you at the edge of your seat waiting for the next bad ass battle. No GOW is no longer the eye popping new kid on the block… but still a hell of a lot of fun.
