Hot {ginger} SNAP {apple} Cider

Back during the Snowquster of 2013 I received a bottle of Art in the Age {ginger} SNAP and ever since then I have been drawn to doing something with the spirit ever time it snows. This time I took the time to make a hot apple cider cocktail with the spirit {ginger} SNAP.

For those of you that are not familiar with {ginger} SNAP it is a ginger snap spirit that is 80 proof and perfectly balanced. Well that may seem highly bias but that bias has been earned by the SNAP spirit. I always tell bourbon drinkers to give it a chance it will appeal to their tastes the most, still other can find many reasons to enjoy the Art of the Age {ginger} SNAP. From a simple drink such as Ginger ale and SNAP to something as complex as Pumpkin Nog (see the tag) it will give life to any cocktail when used in the proper way.
Today I have made a hot apple cider and add {ginger} SNAP to it and behold it was a marriage that was meant to be. to do this you will need Apple cider, Art in the Age {ginger} SNAP, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, nutmeg, 2 oranges, 1 lemon and brown sugar. Now the {ginger} SNAP will be added when the drink is read to be served but the rest will need some attention before it is ready to be enjoyed.

Hot {ginger} SNAP {apple} Cider

2 oz. (60 ml) Art of the Age {ginger} SNAP
5 oz. (135 ml) Hot apple cider
Garnish brunt orange peel
Directions
The first thing you want to do is heat up the apple cider after it has been seasoned and then heat up the mug you will use (so you don’t lose any heat of the drink) after you have a heated mug pour the Art of the Age {ginger} SNAP first then add the hot apple cider. Finish by spritzing an orange peel with a flame over the apple cider for a final touch.

Hot Apple Cider

1 Gallon of Apple Cider
4 Brunt cinnamon sticks
4 Whole nutmeg
20 Cloves
6 Star anise
2 Oranges
1 Lemon
Directions
First take the oranges and lemon and peel them adding the spritzing the oils of the peels in the apple cider the cinnamon sticks with tongs and move them over an open flame till the cinnamon sticks are singed. Take the whole nutmeg and crack them open then add the cloves, star anise, cracked nutmeg and toast them in a pan. In a pot able to contain the gallon of apple cider add the cinnamon and the toasted spices in the pot with the apple cider with the orange and lemon peels.  Bring them all to a simmer and allow the spices and peels to steep in the apple cider.
